Kuwait has officially received its first batch of Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial systems from Turkey, marking the milestone with a launch event at Ali Al Salem Air Base. The $367 million acquisition is aimed at strengthening Kuwait’s airborne ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) and strike capabilities. The delivery included logistics and sustainment packages, with demonstrations and briefings attended by government officials. The Bayraktar TB2 features EO/IR sensors, GPS, and a 100-horsepower engine, capable of 27-hour flight durations and speeds up to 222 km/h. With this acquisition, Kuwait becomes the 29th country to operate the TB2, which has seen operational use in conflicts in Ukraine, Syria, Libya, and Azerbaijan.
