The US Air Force has formally designated Leidos’ Small Cruise Missile as the AGM-190A, officially recognizing it as an operational stand-off strike weapon. Also known as “Black Arrow,” the 200-pound missile is built for cost-efficient, long-range precision engagement. Powered by a Pratt & Whitney TJ150-7 turbojet engine, it reaches speeds of Mach 0.8 and operates at altitudes up to 30,000 feet. The missile incorporates modular hardware and open-architecture software to allow rapid upgrades. Its development leverages Leidos’ experience with systems such as the GBU-69, as well as additive manufacturing and AI-enabled optimization. A recent C-130 test demonstrated a stand-off range exceeding 400 nautical miles.
