Lockheed Martin has partnered with Hadrian to accelerate the production of high-priority missile components, aiming to enhance the resilience and scalability of US defense manufacturing. Under the agreement, Hadrian will implement a factory-as-a-service model inside a Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control facility. This includes a flexible machining and inspection cell powered by CNC machines, advanced robotics, and Hadrian’s manufacturing execution software. The goal is to support rapid production increases for systems like PAC-3 MSE, THAAD, PrSM, and GMLRS. Lockheed Martin has been pursuing a long-term strategy to modernize and accelerate its production lines, investing in digital engineering, automation, additive manufacturing, and modular assembly lines across multiple US sites. Recent upgrades to PAC-3 and THAAD production facilities have focused on scalable cells that can quickly respond to surging global demand. The company has also broadened cooperation with specialized small suppliers to avoid bottlenecks, mirroring broader US defense industrial trends emphasizing automation, supply-chain diversification, and flexible capacity.
