Anglo-German startup Hypersonica has successfully tested what it describes as Europe’s first privately developed hypersonic missile, reaching speeds beyond Mach 6 and covering over 300 kilometers. The Munich-based firm reported full system validation during ascent and descent phases. Backed by a 23-million-euro funding round, the company plans to scale the prototype and achieve full operational capability by 2029. Its modular, software-driven development model is intended to cut costs and accelerate iteration compared to traditional procurement programs.
