The Ukrainian military has cleared the Zmiy Droid 12.7 NRK for frontline operations, marking another step in its expanding use of ground combat robots. The unmanned platform carries a heavy machine gun and is optimized for demanding terrain and hostile environments. Its survivability against mines and drones, combined with AI-assisted targeting, allows a single operator to control both movement and combat functions. Building on successful battlefield deployments of similar systems, the Ministry of Defense views the Droid as a practical force multiplier rather than an experimental asset.
