
US firm Raytheon and Germany’s Diehl Defence will jointly produce key Stinger missile components in Europe. The MANPADS, out of production for 20 years, saw renewed demand due to drone warfare and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The partnership aims to expand European production capacity, support Taiwan’s stockpiling, and modernize the system with life extension programs and the Next-Generation Short-Range Interceptor (NGSRI) replacement.
