Raytheon has been awarded a $1.02 billion production contract by the US Department of Defense to supply LTAMDS radars for the US Army. The contract represents a modification to a $2.1 billion base agreement signed in 2024.

With an additional $1.7 billion sale announced in September 2025, the cumulative value of the LTAMDS program now stands at approximately $3.8 billion. Production activities linked to the latest order will be conducted at Raytheon’s Andover, Massachusetts facility, with delivery scheduled to be completed by March 2030.

The program will be administered in coordination with the US Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. LTAMDS is being developed as a replacement for decommissioned Patriot air and missile defense radars used by the US Army and allied forces.

The radar is designed to defeat a wide range of current and future airborne threats, including targets moving at speeds of up to Mach 5. Offering 360-degree coverage and multi-target engagement capability, the system represents a key upgrade to the Army’s air and missile defense network. Raytheon has also partnered with TTM Technologies, which is expected to receive up to $200 million over three years to supply critical radio frequency assemblies, circuit boards, and electronic components for the program.
