Red Cat Holdings has announced a new contract with an undisclosed customer in the Asia-Pacific region for its Black Widow small unmanned aircraft system. Deliveries of the systems, in undisclosed quantities, are scheduled to begin this year.

Each delivered system will include two Black Widow UAVs, a ground control station, and supplementary mission equipment. The company emphasized that this is the second recent military order for the Black Widow from the Asia-Pacific region.

Intended for tactical ISR roles, the Black Widow combines a compact, rugged airframe with secure communications designed for military operations in challenging conditions. The system supports reliable performance in a wide range of operational environments.

The standard Black Widow configuration weighs approximately 4.26 pounds and reaches speeds of up to 47 kilometers per hour. With more than 50 minutes of endurance and an operational range of about 5 miles, the UAV is well suited for short- and medium-range reconnaissance missions. For enhanced situational awareness, the platform can be equipped with Reveal Farsight 3D mapping software, enabling real-time 3D terrain generation, target identification, and tracking to support mission planning and decision-making.
