Russia stated on Sunday that its forces had seized Rivnopillia and Mala Tokmachka in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, continuing slow but steady gains against outnumbered Ukrainian units. The ministry posted the claim on Telegram, noting that although the Zaporizhzhia front is less active than the eastern sector, Russian troops—better equipped and numerically stronger—are advancing in both. In the east, fighting has intensified around Pokrovsk, a vital logistical hub where Russian infiltration has put growing pressure on Ukrainian defenses. Diplomatic efforts remain stalled, with peace talks frozen and a planned Trump-Putin summit in Budapest failing to take place.
