Huntington Ingalls Industries and Thales have successfully combined the SAMDIS 600 synthetic aperture sonar with the REMUS 620 unmanned underwater vehicle during trials in Massachusetts. The integration delivers high-resolution mine detection and subsea mapping on a modular, long-endurance platform. REMUS 620 can operate for 24 hours, travel 80 kilometers, dive to 1,000 meters, and reach 5 knots.
