GuRu Wireless, Uniquest Corporation, and Arion have partnered to develop an untethered drone system capable of persistent ISR missions for South Korean defense users. The project integrates Arion’s autonomous flight software with GuRu’s 24 GHz wireless power transfer technology, which beams energy from a ground-based phased array transmitter to airborne drones. The staged development plan includes live demonstrations and pilot programs with military units, culminating in a public showcase at Drone Show Korea 2026 demonstrating simultaneous wireless charging of two drones in flight.
