The ambitious course for modernizing the Indian Army’s armored troops by creating a next-generation main battle tank (MBT) to replace the aging fleet of T-72 tanks is being mapped out by India’s Future Ready Combat Vehicle (FRCV) program. The initiative seeks to develop a more sophisticated and competent tank while also investigating the feasibility of unmanned, automated combat vehicles. These unmanned main battle tanks (MBTs) are intended to revolutionize combat operations by using direct satellite connections for real-time battlefield data exchange, strong communication networks, and increased firepower capacities. India’s FRCV program is driven by a transformative technology and vision, which we will examine in more detail here.
