MBDA has upgraded its MISTRAL 3 very short-range air defense missile to counter fast inshore attack craft (FIAC), enhancing protection for naval vessels. The improvement, confirmed after a qualification test in Spain, includes enhanced guidance, flight control, and imaging, enabling the missile to operate effectively at night. The MISTRAL 3 has also proven effective against drones with low infrared signatures, such as Shahed-type UAVs, reinforcing its reputation as a versatile and combat-tested defense system.
