The Norwegian Armed Forces have contracted Skydio to deliver its proprietary X10D unmanned aerial systems, under a deal valued at nearly $9.8 million. The U.S.-made drones are equipped with high-resolution cameras ranging from 48 to 64 megapixels and FLIR thermal sensors from Teledyne, aimed at improving intelligence gathering and decision-making. Built to meet U.S. military specifications, the X10D launches in less than 40 seconds, reaches speeds of 72 km/h, and can maintain flight for up to 40 minutes. Its design includes features that ensure reliable data and control in contested electronic environments.
