The “Weevil,” a remote-controlled robotic system developed by the British Army in collaboration with Pearson Engineering Ltd, a British company, and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), is intended to clear mines and explosives more effectively than existing methods. The Weevil is mounted on a military vehicle and used to dig and push mines aside in order to create safe routes for combatants on the battlefield.
