The US Air Force has selected Trust Automation for a contract worth as much as $490 million to advance unmanned and counter‑unmanned aerial system technologies.
The award supports rapid development, testing, evaluation, production, and operational transition of UAS and C‑UAS solutions, addressing the growing threat posed by hostile drones to Air Force bases and deployed units. All work will be performed at the company’s San Luis Obispo, California facility, with the program scheduled to conclude in August 2030.
Trust Automation’s systems are designed to counter small drones by disrupting their control and navigation signals. Its Small Unmanned Air Defense System delivers layered defense for fixed infrastructure such as base defense operations centers, while also providing mobile solutions for expeditionary environments.
The system is capable of detecting and defeating Group 1 and Group 2 threats weighing up to 55 pounds, operating at speeds of up to 250 knots and altitudes reaching 3,500 feet. Complementing this capability is the GAT UAS Jammer, a compact GNSS‑band jammer that can be mounted on standard NATO firearm rails or used independently with a handheld grip.
