Raytheon and Northrop Grumman have tested a solid rocket motor for the Army’s new NGSRI, designed to outperform the aging Stinger missile with superior range and speed.

The motor relies on HLG propellant, which delivers more sustained thrust. It supports multiple launch formats, giving the missile tactical flexibility.

Test round four included static fires under varying conditions and a successful ballistic flight. More launches are planned soon. Earlier, Raytheon confirmed it had validated the missile’s guidance, launcher, and explosive components.
