A group of U.S. companies including D-Wave Quantum, Anduril Industries, and Davidson Technologies is exploring how quantum computing could enhance air and missile defense systems. In a proof-of-concept demonstration, the firms used Anduril’s defense simulations, Davidson’s mission-planning expertise, and D-Wave’s quantum hardware to test missile interception scenarios. Results indicated significantly faster solution times compared to conventional systems, with improved threat mitigation during large-scale simulated attacks. The effort highlights growing interest in quantum technologies as potential force multipliers for future defense operations.
