The US Navy has opened a call for defense contractors to propose new unmanned surface vessels (USVs) for moving containerized payloads. This initiative, managed by the Program Executive Office, aims to acquire scalable and cost-effective autonomous platforms, utilizing modular ISO containers and allowing construction at various shipyards. Proposals are invited until August 2025, and the acquisition process will use the expedited Other Transaction Authority.
