In an effort to make Brazil its newest Latin American client, the Emirati defense company EDGE has introduced the ANAVIA HT-100 unmanned helicopter to the nation.
Representatives from the Brazilian Armed Forces were present at the Army Activities Center in Restinga da Marambaia, Rio de Janeiro, where the firm demonstrated the capabilities of the HT-100.
The autonomous helicopter took 15 minutes to get ready for flight during the live demonstration, from system activation and pre-flight inspections through takeoff.
After that, it performed a complicated flight profile that included hovering, low-speed maneuvers, figure-eight patterns, and circular orbits at low altitude.
The HT-100’s real-time mapping capabilities, which improved situational awareness and proved its beyond-visual-line-of-sight capabilities, were also on display.
