Azerbaijan has more than doubled its order of JF-17 Thunder multirole fighters from Pakistan, now totaling 40 units.
The original 2024 deal, worth $1.6 billion, was aimed at improving Baku’s military air assets amid rising regional threats.
This expansion raises the overall contract value to $4.6 billion, making Azerbaijan the top customer of the jet.
The Block III aircraft included feature advanced targeting and avionics capabilities.
Initial deliveries began in September 2024, with jets operational shortly after.
