Albania has reached an agreement with Israel’s Elbit Systems to procure ATMOS 155mm howitzers, 120mm SPEAR mortars, and Magni-X and Thor drones while establishing local production capabilities. The Magni-X quadcopter carries 1.5 kg for up to an hour, even under GPS denial, while the Thor drone supports munition drops and 70-minute endurance. The first batch includes 10 drones, followed by factory setup in northern Albania. The deal complements broader foreign assistance—US armored vehicles and training, Italian naval assets, German communication systems, and Turkish drones and military instruction.
