Textron Systems has entered a prototype agreement with the US Army to deliver its Damocles loitering munition under the Low Altitude Stalking and Strike Ordnance program. The company will provide a system for evaluation, demonstrating its vertical take-off and landing capability and integrated GEN2 Explosively Formed Penetrator with top-attack functionality. Designed with an open modular architecture, Damocles allows payload swaps for strike, ISR, or electronic warfare missions. The platform is optimized for contested and GPS-denied environments and incorporates measures to reduce unexploded ordnance risks, reflecting the Army’s growing interest in adaptable autonomous strike systems.
