BAE Systems has secured $137 million in US Army foreign military sales contracts to supply AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning Systems to allied air forces. The CMWS detects infrared and radio-frequency-guided missile threats and provides automatic alerts and countermeasure cues to protect aircraft. Installed on over 40 aircraft types and more than 3,000 platforms worldwide, the system supports integrated survivability suites and can detect hostile fire including small arms and rocket-propelled grenades. The award builds on previous FMS funding in 2024 and reinforces allied aircraft protection capabilities.
