Turkey has demonstrated a significant advancement in drone warfare with the introduction of an AI-enabled kamikaze drone capable of coordinated swarm operations. Developed by Baykar, the K2 UAV successfully completed flight tests over the Gulf of Saros, showcasing its ability to operate alongside multiple drones in synchronized formations. The system uses onboard sensors and advanced autonomy software to maintain formation and execute coordinated maneuvers. This capability enhances operational effectiveness by enabling multiple drones to act as a unified strike system, increasing mission success rates in contested environments. The development highlights Turkey’s growing focus on autonomous and networked unmanned systems.
