China is creating an AI-based detection system to improve torpedo accuracy against submarines using decoy defenses.
A study by the PLA Navy Armament Department and China State Shipbuilding Corporation claims 92.2% success in recognizing authentic targets over fakes.
Once operational, this system may allow Chinese torpedoes to penetrate complex underwater defenses, including misleading sonar signals.
