Electro Optic Systems has secured a $42-million contract from a Middle Eastern customer to deliver its Slinger counter-drone weapon system, highlighting growing demand for cost-effective air defense solutions. The system integrates radar tracking, a stabilized 30mm cannon, and advanced targeting technologies to detect and neutralize aerial threats. Designed for affordability, each engagement costs significantly less than traditional missile-based systems, making it suitable for countering low-cost drone threats. Production will take place in Australia, with deliveries planned through 2026. The contract also includes integration, training, and support services. EOS has further received smaller contracts from US-based customers and is actively engaging with multiple Middle Eastern nations to expand its market presence. The Slinger system’s modular design allows it to operate independently or as part of a networked defense architecture.
