Epirus has been awarded a $43.55 million contract by the US Army to supply its next-generation directed-energy weapon, capable of neutralizing drone swarms using high-power microwaves. The contract includes two IFPC-HPM Gen II systems, testing, and support components, with evaluation planned at China Lake in October. The Gen II variant, part of the Leonidas line, offers modular, software-defined upgrades and is expected to double effective range while boosting power by 30% over the first generation.
