Sydney-based DroneShield has secured three contracts through a local reseller to provide a European military client with handheld detection and counter-drone equipment, as well as associated accessories.
The undisclosed number of systems, valued at a total of 61.6 million Australian dollars (or 40 million USD), is planned for delivery during the third quarter of this year.
The company claims that this is its biggest single transaction ever, totaling more than its entire 2024 revenue of 57.7 million Australian dollars ($37.7 million), and that it follows a 32.2 million Australian dollar ($21 million) order from another customer in April.
According to a statement released by company CEO Oleg Vornik, “The scale and frequency of orders has been increasing as leading Military customers are moving from testing hardware to broader rollouts.”
The Australian firm is building its first European production and assembly plant in response to the increase in demand, signaling its initial foray outside of the nation.
The European Centre of Excellence for DroneShield will assist with training, research and development, manufacturing and assembly, and drone testing, allowing for at least 65% European content in particular solutions.
