Germany is planning to procure Poland’s Piorun man-portable air defense system, according to Polish officials. Developed by Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, the system is capable of engaging low-flying aircraft and drones at ranges up to 6.5 kilometers. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk indicated that part of the production will support German forces while additional units may be supplied to Ukraine. The Piorun has already been exported to several NATO countries and deployed operationally by Kyiv.
