The U.S. Army has selected UVision’s HERO‑90 loitering munition for evaluation under the Low Altitude Stalking and Strike Ordnance (LASSO) initiative, advancing efforts to provide dismounted troops with precision anti‑armor strike options. The decision places HERO‑90 into an accelerated Army assessment process focused on rapidly addressing capability gaps revealed by recent high‑intensity warfare.

Mistral Inc. and UVision stated that the system was chosen by Program Executive Office Soldier for inclusion in the program. While the announcement does not amount to a procurement award, it signals serious Army interest and initiates a competitive evaluation phase. During this process, the HERO‑90’s operational performance, compatibility with existing soldier systems, and logistical feasibility will be assessed to determine its suitability for future acquisition.
