Russia’s Kalashnikov Concern has produced its first batch of AM-17 rifles, chambered in 5.45mm, after combat evaluation in Ukraine. Lightweight at 2.5kg and foldable under 50cm, the weapon delivers 800 rounds per minute with a 400m range. The design answers troops’ demand for compact, mobile firearms suited for urban and vehicle-based operations.
