“On Wednesday, during a visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that Berlin will assist Kyiv in developing new long-range weapons capable of reaching targets far within Russian territory.
Later, the defense ministers of both nations signed a memorandum of understanding for the manufacture of long-range weapons systems, but without disclosing the names of the companies involved or any technical specifics.
“Ukraine will be able to fully defend itself, even against military targets outside its own territory, because there will be no range restrictions,” Merz stated at a shared press conference.
