Microchip Technology has introduced the JANPTX family of military-certified transient voltage suppressors designed to protect sensitive defense and aerospace electronics from power surges and electromagnetic interference. Unlike traditional hermetic devices, the new components use lightweight plastic packaging while still meeting MIL-PRF-19500 standards. Capable of responding in under 100 picoseconds and handling surges up to 1.5 kilowatts, the devices are aimed at size- and weight-constrained platforms such as avionics and sensors. Microchip says the components balance cost, reliability, and performance for modern military electronics.
