Under a new $11 million contract, the US Navy has selected ELTA North America to develop stand-off airborne communications jammers designed to enhance survivability in contested electromagnetic environments. The systems will disrupt enemy communications from extended ranges, reducing exposure to air defenses. Unlike traditional radar jamming, the focus remains on lower-frequency tactical communications that adversaries still rely on during combat. The project fits within the broader SOJ Jets initiative aimed at strengthening airborne electronic attack for naval and joint operations, reinforcing efforts already underway through the Navy’s Next Generation Jammer program and contracted stand-off jamming services.
