The most recent rendering of its extremely secret AIM-260A Joint Advanced Tactical Missile (JATM) has been released by the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). The missile, along with other cutting-edge technologies like the AIM-9M/X Sidewinder and the AIM-120 AMRAAM, was displayed as part of a portfolio overview given by the Program Executive Office for Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons. The new picture shows that the AIM-260A JATM has a fuselage akin to the AIM-120, but with a far bigger rocket motor portion, presumably for increased range.
