The Pentagon’s Joint Interagency Task Force 401 has awarded Perennial Autonomy a $5.2-million contract to supply kinetic counter-drone systems as part of accelerating US military defenses against small unmanned aerial threats. The agreement covers delivery of the Bumblebee V2, a first-person-view multi-rotor drone designed to physically intercept hostile sUAS with limited collateral damage. The system is fully compliant with NDAA requirements and emphasizes affordability and rapid scalability. Deliveries will begin in March, with the Army’s Global Response Force conducting operational evaluations at the newly established Lieutenant General Gavin Joint Innovation Outpost. Created in January 2026, the facility focuses on rapidly fielding technologies that enhance combat survivability and lethality. The award follows earlier JIATF-401 initiatives, including contracts for DroneHunter interceptors and infrastructure protection guidance.
