The Polish Ministry of Defense has finalized a major ammunition procurement deal with Mesko, a subsidiary of PGZ, valued at nearly $40 million. This agreement will supply thousands of 120mm APFSDS-T tank rounds, each weighing 7.3 kg and backed by a high-energy 8.4 kg propellant. The rounds are designed to engage and destroy heavily armored targets with high accuracy. Key to their performance is the GUW-7-120 electric primer, ensuring consistent ignition and a remarkable muzzle velocity of 1,670 m/s. Originally developed for the Leopard 2 tank’s main gun, they could also be compatible with the M1 Abrams’ weapon systems used by Poland.
