BBN Technologies has been selected to head a multi-partner initiative focused on real-time spectrum coordination between 5G infrastructure and defense radar operations. Sponsored by the DoD and National Spectrum Consortium, the program will develop a smart spectrum manager that uses machine learning to anticipate radar transmissions and automatically shift network traffic. The effort supports national security objectives while preserving commercial telecommunications growth through efficient, automated spectrum sharing.
