South Korea is working to enhance the capabilities of some of its key weapon systems amid rising demands for greater firepower.
The country’s Defense Agency for Technology and Quality (DTaQ) recently conducted a field support mission to identify operational improvements to the K9 howitzer, Chunmoo rocket launcher, and Cheonma missile system.
The three-day mission involved 40 specialized maintenance personnel from DTaQ and the South Korean Army’s 70th Maintenance Battalion. Representatives from major defense firms, including Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Systems, Hyundai Rotem, and LIG Nex1, also participated.
