The Swedish Armed Forces have contracted Saab to deliver new brigade-level air-defense sensors and command-and-control systems valued at 2.1 billion kronor. The procurement includes the Giraffe 1X radar and LSS Lv C2, alongside integration support and spare parts, with deliveries planned between 2027 and 2028. Saab will also examine integrating its AMB medium-range radar into the brigade structure. Giraffe 1X is a lightweight, flexible 3D radar capable of detecting diverse air threats, including small drones. The LSS Lv system enhances command coordination, target allocation, and overall air-defense planning.
