Safran Electronics & Defense, a leading provider of advanced defence technologies, and Babcock International Group have announced plans to deepen their collaboration across multi-domain mission systems, aircraft engines, space technologies, and tactical and strategic communications.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed at the Paris Air Show, seeks to leverage the combined expertise of Safran and Babcock to offer innovative, competitive solutions tailored for the UK, France, and global defence markets.
This agreement builds upon a longstanding partnership between two prominent defence companies whose portfolios range from submarines to satellites. It will focus on jointly pursuing major defence programmes across land, naval, and air sectors, accelerating the integration and development of cutting-edge technologies.
The MOU also aligns with the objectives of the British and French governments under the Lancaster House Treaties to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation. It underscores a shared dedication to bolstering European security and fostering a resilient, sovereign industrial base prepared for future defence challenges.
Collaboration under this framework will include joint research and development initiatives, exchanging best practices in engineering, manufacturing, and support, and enhancing supply chain resilience to safeguard sovereignty and security of supply. Both companies remain committed to supporting government strategies aimed at driving economic growth and creating skilled jobs in both countries.
Through this reinforced partnership, Safran and Babcock reaffirm their commitment to advancing Franco-British defence cooperation for the benefit of national security, economic prosperity, and European defence leadership.
