The Swiss Armed Forces has signed a deal with Lewis Machine & Tool (LMT) Defense to purchase Sturmgewehr 25 assault rifles. The contract covers the 5.56×45-millimeter weapon, which is a version of the Iowa-based company’s Modular Ambidextrous Rifle System – Light or MARS-L system. According to the German news agency, these gas piston-enabled weapons will be available in 12- and 16-inch models.
