With the creation of the Blackbeard Ground Launch (GL) weapon system, the US Army is getting ready to provide its High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) a hypersonic boost.
The strategy is to merge the Blackbeard missile with current HIMARS platforms, fusing the system’s mobility and proven infrastructure with high-speed accuracy.
The Blackbeard GL, which is currently being developed by Castelion Corporations, will hit targets at Mach 5 speeds using self-guiding technology. It is designed for precise engagement against armored and moving enemy resources, even in difficult situations.
