The United States has granted clearance for a possible $200 million foreign military sale to the United Kingdom involving additional AEHF-compatible Navy Multiband Terminals. RTX Corporation is listed as the main contractor for the procurement. London seeks six new NMT units, which will be incorporated into an earlier case involving two systems priced at just over $41 million. Altogether, the UK now plans to acquire eight terminals that deliver hardened, high-throughput communications for naval platforms. The US disclosure states that the package includes crypto modules, high-data-rate submarine masts, integration and testing support, spare parts, training, documentation, and a range of government and contractor services. The terminals are slated for integration on the Royal Navy’s Dreadnought-class submarines, strengthening secure communications between ships, submarines, and supporting command nodes. The approval continues a steady pattern of transatlantic defense collaboration. Recent US-UK initiatives include the Wedgetail airborne early warning program, upgraded support for the UK’s F-35B fleet, expanded mission-data and software services, new AMRAAM missile approvals, and ongoing sustainment contracts for the P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.
