The American land forces have expanded their agreement with a Tennessee-based arms maker to acquire additional kits for their new modular sniper system. The weapon allows soldiers to switch calibers quickly for different missions, improving flexibility without carrying multiple rifles. The contract covers barrel sets in two key calibers and ensures deliveries continue through the mid-2020s. This initiative supports modernization by replacing aging long-range weapons and preparing forces for both counterinsurgency and peer-level conflicts.
