As part of the US Army’s Directed Requirement for Lethal Unmanned Systems (LUS), AeroVironment has been awarded a $55.3 million contract to provide Switchblade loitering munitions. This contract is the second order under a five-year contract that the firm received in August, which has a ceiling of $990 million. The LUS requirement aims to improve infantry soldiers’ capabilities for neutralizing fortified targets like tanks and armored vehicles.
