The US Navy has awarded General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) a $988 million contract to modernize the digital systems connecting its fleet, aircraft, and shore operations.

This contract is part of the Ship and Air C5ISR Systems Support program and includes a one-year base period, four optional one-year extensions, and a six-month option.

GDIT will upgrade, integrate, and maintain C5ISR systems on all surface combatants, including aircraft carriers, guided missile ships, Coast Guard vessels, as well as manned and unmanned aircraft and shore stations. The work covers engineering, logistics, procurement, and installation to sustain mission readiness.

The award follows other recent fleet modernization efforts: Lockheed Martin’s advanced micro-electronics for MH-60R Seahawks (April 2024), Leidos’ $248 million unmanned systems support (October 2024), and Kratos’ Phase 1 sustainment program for AN/SPY-1 radar systems (October 2025).
