Agile Defense Expands Marine Corps IT and Cyber Support Under $93.3 Million AwardsAgile Defense has received a combined $93.3 million in contracts to continue supporting and upgrading information technology and cyberspace capabilities across the US Marine Corps.The largest portion of the work is an $88 million award that Agile Defense will execute alongside CommIT Enterprises, a Stafford-based small business. The contract covers a broad range of cyberspace services aimed at improving the Marine Corps’ non-classified and secret Internet Protocol networks.These networks provide essential digital connectivity for military command, operational coordination, planning, and deployment activities. Their modernization is intended to strengthen the infrastructure supporting Marine Corps missions while improving the reliability of digital services.Agile Defense will also receive a separate $5.3 million sole-source recompete contract supporting Marine Corps Installation West. MCIWEST is responsible for overseeing seven Marine bases on the US West Coast.The company has managed information technology solutions for MCIWEST since 2016. In 2024, its responsibilities expanded to include cloud technologies and specialized artificial intelligence capabilities, reflecting the Marine Corps’ broader adoption of modern digital tools.The new contract also includes work involving geospatial information systems. In addition, Agile Defense will implement Microsoft SharePoint to provide a web-based collaborative environment that can help personnel manage information and support strategic planning activities.The combination of network modernization, cloud computing, AI capabilities, geospatial technology, and collaboration platforms demonstrates how military IT infrastructure is evolving.
