With the goal of bringing the Striker II Helmet-Mounted Display (HMD) closer to manufacturing standards, the Eurofighter Typhoon group has given BAE Systems a 133 million pound ($168 million) contract to improve it. The money will be used to support the helmet’s next stage of development. Flight testing is also included in the contract. With the Striker II, “Typhoon pilots will continue to fly a world-leading aircraft, wearing a world-leading all-digital helmet,” according to the terms.
